It sounds counterintuitive, but it makes complete sense. In summer, people have more time, a clearer head and less pressure than during the rest of the year. It is the ideal moment to make important decisions calmly, without back-to-back meetings and without the feeling that you have been running flat out for three weeks. Why summer is the best time to plan — not just to celebrate

Most couples who get married in summer start planning their wedding the summer before. It is a pattern we see repeat itself every year. They have a full year ahead of them, they are on holiday, they have time to think and compare without the pressure. And experience shows that the weddings that go best are the ones that were planned calmly, not the ones that were pulled together in a last-minute rush.

If your wedding is in 2027 and you are reading this in July or August 2026, you are at the perfect moment.You have plenty of time to choose exactly the material you want, nail down the details, and avoid having to settle for whatever is left when everyone else starts booking in January.

Dasler does not close in summer

One of the questions we get most often at this time of year is: "Are you open in August?" The answer is yes, always. We have been doing this for over sixty years and we know perfectly well that summer is one of the busiest periods in the industry. Closing in August simply makes no sense for us.

What makes sense to book right now

You do not need to have everything decided before you start booking. In fact, the usual approach is to confirm the main elements first — the tablecloths, the chairs, the glassware, any arches — and adjust the details later. What matters is that that material is set aside for your date.

The items that go first in peak season are those with the highest demand and limited availability: specific designer chair models, outdoor chill out sofas, wedding-specific glassware, or certain arch designs. If there is anything in your moodboard that is not generic, that is the first thing you should confirm. Quality tablecloths in specific colours and finishes also get booked up early.

How the booking process works at Dasler

It is straightforward. You tell us the date, the type of celebration and the approximate number of guests. From there, we put together a proposal with the available material and pricing. If it works for you, you confirm the booking and that material is reserved for your date. You do not have to pay everything upfront or have every detail locked in.

What we do ask is that the date is confirmed as early as possible, because that is what allows us to manage availability properly.Booking ahead does not mean you have to have everything perfect from day one — that gets refined over time — but it does give you the peace of mind of knowing that what you want will be available on your wedding day.

A thought on rushing weddings

We have seen a lot of weddings over the years. And what separates the ones that go really well from the ones that go "well, but…" is almost never the budget. It is the planning. Couples who book early get to choose what they want. Couples who wait until the last moment choose from what is left.
